There are many extraordinary museums to see in Mallorca, but the Joaquín Torrents Lladó House Museum is a favorite within all tourists, located in the historic center of Palma, is a space dedicated to the artistic works of this renowned painter.
Joaquín Torrents Lladó (Badalona 1946 – Palma 1993) traveled to Mallorca for the very first time in 1967, after a year he decided to move permanently to the center of Mallorca.
This well-known painter, thanks to his talent to make portraits and landscapes, was asked to decorate the Montecarlo Ballet set during the nineties, to portray the kings of Spain, and as well as these many works that definitely left a mark on the history. After he died prematurely in 1993, his house was left as a museum so that everyone could appreciate his magnificent art works.
The exhibition has 120 works permanently spread over the 2 floors of the house where you can find oil paintings, portraits, landscapes, watercolors, sculptures, personal objects of the artist, besides the clothing collection of XIX century, which also used to dress their models, and more.
The other works are renewed every 6 months; There are also 2 temporary exhibitions a year to celebrate different cultural activities, one of them is a cycle of classic concerts that take place during the months of July and August.
The house itself is already a work of art thanks to the decorations that can be seen on the 2 floors, beautiful windows, wooden floors, lots of flowers and trees that give life to the place, and even the reassuring sound of fish swimming in the fountain located at the entrance of the house.
